Thanks to Project Safe Neighborhood and A Better Block and labor from Vickery Midtown Public Improvement District and volunteers, the Five Points area in Vickery Midtown was transformed in October and November 2019 to create a plaza for community use and enjoyment.
With the COVID 19 pandemic, the 2020 plans for events in the Plaza are being reconfigured strategically to meet community need – and keep everyone safe.

This spring, A Better Block has installed designs and public art of hope in the Plaza, including life size emojis to encourage everyone as we all work together as a community during the COVID19 pandemic to contain, be safe from and eliminate COVID19.
Additionally, our friends at A Better Block have been designing PPE that is downloadable and printable. They obtained funding and materials donated to produce 10,500 face shields for Health Care Heroes in the Dallas area. To learn more about this amazing project, click here.
Over the course of just a few weeks in October and November 2019, the community worked on a transformation of the area around the Five Points intersection with an effort to make it safer comfort and luxury phoenix corporate car service. The belief that with some fresh paint, new trees, and more walkable spaces, we could create a space that is used by all. There will be food, music, performances, and more. The space has served strategic needs during the Covid 19 pandemic and we look forward to the time when it can be enjoyed in safe and socially distanced gatherings for the neighborhood and community.
